On the first day of school, Boon Patriots celebrated the morning with a "Playground Parade" lead by Spencer's 2nd grade fellow classmates for the dedication of the Spencer Squire All-Star Playground. Principal Tammie James welcomed everyone and Anna Squire spoke about the celebration and tribute of the playground and thanked all those who helped with the Spencer Squire Gift to School project. Spencer's little brother, Ryan, made the official "3-2-1" Countdown as the family along with school namesake Dr. ET Boon made the first cut on the ribbon cutting as students blew bubbles to celebrate the official opening of the playground. Spencer's 2nd grade classmates were then the first to play on the playground. The Squire family treated all Boon Patriots to Spencer's favorite treat, ice cream! An ice cream truck pulled up to the playground and each Boon Patriots enjoyed their favorite ice cream bar during their recess period as they played on the new playground. What a wonderful, happy, fun-filled day it was for all Boon Patriots, Spencer's family and friends... capturing Spencer's playful spirit, love of family and friends... a legacy to bring many smiles for years to come.
